Fusion Saint John is delighted to introduce our new Chair of the Board – and newly minted 2024 Leader to Watch recipient – Laura Oland!
Laura has served on the board since 2021 as Director of Cultural Engagement and was elected to Chair in February. She’s no stranger to serving on boards, currently serving as Chair on the Saint John Community Arts Board and as Secretary for “Just Us”, a non-profit mental health organization. She has formerly sat on the boards of Third Space Gallery and InterAction School of Performing Arts.
“My vision for Fusion is to propel the momentum of our recent accomplishments forward, amplifying our impact within the Saint John community,” said Laura. “I’m enthusiastic about this opportunity to serve as the chair, as it presents both a new challenge and a learning curve for me, transitioning from my previous role as Director of Cultural Engagement. I aim to work with our fantastic board to create new events and network opportunities for our Fusion community.”
On May 16, Laura was the recipient of the Leader To Watch award, presented by the YMCA Southern New Brunswick at their 34th Annual Red Triangle Awards. The award recognizes young leaders who make exceptional contributions to their community.
Laura’s passion for Saint John’s history, culture and arts blends beautifully with the Fusion Saint John mission working together to promote the Saint John region as a place to build your life. She is passionate about living in uptown Saint John and is excited to see the port city continue to grow!
