Fusion Saint John is delighted to introduce our new Co-Chairs of the Board, Eric Shennan & Rachel Vander Vennen.
Eric has served on the board since 2024. Originally from Ontario, he moved to the region a couple of years ago to be closer to family, and has since fallen in love with the energy and culture that make up Saint John.
“I believe it’s the people that make Saint John special, and since moving here I have been struck by how warm and welcoming the community is to visitors and newcomers,” says Eric. “As our region continues to grow, it’s my goal as Co-Chair with Fusion Saint John to continue to create spaces to welcome those from all backgrounds into this community I now call home.”
Rachel has served on the Fusion board since 2023. Rachel moved to Saint John in 2020 for a position with L’Arche Saint John, despite never having visited or knowing anyone. She quickly fell in love with the city and is proud to call Saint John home.
“It’s a real honour to serve as Co-Chair on the Fusion Saint John board,” says Rachel. “Since moving to Saint John, I have benefitted from a warm welcome to the city, incredible opportunities for career growth, and everything Saint John has to offer to build a fulfilling life here. I look forward to continuing Fusion’s legacy in helping others find their place of belonging here, too.”
Together, Eric and Rachel lead our vibrant volunteer board of directors to deepen our mission of creating space to network, collaborate, find opportunities, and build social/professional relationships.
